Marifa’s Guide : Islamic Banking & Finance

While I was browsing for online courses on Islamic Banking, I came across Marifa Academy’s site. There were several online courses on offer, but what caught my eye was the download page.

Residing in it was another book created to provide basic understanding for Islamic Banking, to the standards of AAOIFI. Have a read and see if it benefits you.

  2. Salaams – I note on the Marifa that they no longer have a download section. They have a store section where the book is on sale for USD100. Please advise if we have permission to read the PDF which you have shared?

      Good question and thank you for highlighting. I have reached out to Marifa to ask them, as previously the book was only downloadable and not sold. Not sure since when it was being sold, but I had relied on the following disclaimer for posting it:

No part of this publication may be reproduced, distributed, or transmitted in any form or by any means, including photocopying, recording, or other electronic or mechanical methods for commercial purposes, without the prior written permission of Marifa Academy, except in the case of brief quotations embodied in critical reviews and certain other noncommercial uses permitted by copyright law.

      My website is free subscription and I do not sell anything for commercial purposes, so I take it as consistent with the disclaimer. I do not see it as infringing on their stated disclaimer.

      Nonetheless, since Marifa is selling the books, I will disable the eBook for the time being and if there is objection, I will remove all the contents from this website.

        I have tried calling them to ask if we have permission to read for personal use if we have access to online copies. Unfortuntaly their number does not seem to be working. I had also emailed them but did not receive any response.

        Please do let me know if you receive a response from them and I will do so also if I receive one.

        I was relying on your website for content 😛 so I do not have any other ebooks that I could think of. However I do think that the material that you do have is more than enough for any Islamic Finance professional. Sometimes, too much content can be confusing.
